The 2015 NARCA Fall Collection Conference will be held at the Marriott Marquis Hotel, Washington, DC, October 14-17. As is always the case, the 2015 NARCA Conference will be filled with networking opportunities! NL EVP Randy Nicola will be attending NARCA for the 21st year (he started attending in 1994), and he hopes to see you there.
The Conference hotel still has rooms available, but if any nights are full when you make your reservation, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org to be placed on the waiting list. If you register as a Conference attendee before Oct. 9, members and non-members can still save on the fee. Members can also save on Exhibit Hall space. It is sure to be a great place to meet and mingle with people in a relaxed atmosphere, find out about the latest and greatest technology and services in the industry, and even find something good to eat! You can find the full and finalized Conference Agenda here, but a shorter version follows:
Wednesday, Oct. 14th, is “Kickoff Day.” If you are a New Member (practicing attorneys, professionals or NARCA members for less than 5 years, or under 39 years old), you’ll have an opportunity to share wine, cheese and conversation with others like you. You can also stay for the First Time Attendee Reception that includes “NARCA Speed Networking,” an activity that has been very successful at other conferences. PWCI (Professional Women in the Collection Industry) is also holding a Cocktail Social the same hour, 7:00 – 8:00. Kickoff Day ends with a Welcome Reception from 8:00 – 10:00.
Thursday, Oct. 15th, is “Client Day.” Clients host closed-door/by-invitation-only meetings with their legal networks. Each is approximately 35 minutes long, focuses on their current status and their future, and highlights some of their top performing firms. Two Defense Bar Sessions, two CFPB Roundtables, a session on “Limiting Your Risk in the Age of the Hacker,” the opening of the Exhibit Hall, and a Practice Group Networking ice cream social fill out the day before the Cocktail Party with food, drinking and networking in the Exhibit Hall.
Friday, Oct. 16th and Saturday Oct. 17th are Education Days. You’ll want to check the full agenda, where you’ll find more than 15 relevant sessions, including two with NL Member Presenters. Brent Yarborough, of Zarzaur & Cunningham, P.C., and Michael Joyce and Keith Shindler, of Shindler & Joyce, will present Fri. from 2:40 – 3:40 a session entitled “Legal Dings, Dents and Crashes: Collecting on Auto Deficiency Accounts.” Also presenting at that hour will be NL members Robert Bernstein and Shawn McClure, of Bernstein-Burkley, P.C. Their session is entitled “Ethics and Technology in Collections.” This year’s sessions cover a wide variety of topics that you won’t want to miss learning about.
We at The National List support and are active members of NARCA. We encourage you to attend, if not the Fall Conference, then the NARCA 2016 Spring Collection Conference, May 4 – 7, Sheraton Chicago Hotel, Chicago, IL. We hope you will make arrangements to connect with NL staff members at future NARCA and other industry conferences.
