青蛙与埃及人的精神世界有着神奇的联系。 尼罗河洪水过后留下的泥浆自发生成了蝌蚪,蝌蚪的象形文字也象征着 10 万这个数字。

不过,蝌蚪的象形文字与 "Ankh Wajet Seneb "并用。

这代表着 "生命的重复",是一种重生和来世的概念。

在奥西里斯神话中,赫克特站在国王棺材的边缘,为国王注入生命,使他起死回生。

作为国王重生时的神圣助产士,赫克特让国王重新成为冥王。

人们在下葬仪式上传递青蛙形状的护身符,希望 Heqet 能帮助他们来世重生。

就像克努姆创造了肉体一样,赫克特帮助灵魂进入肉体;就像肉体的重生一样,赫克特的刀被用来割断束缚的绳索。

当死亡来临时,Heqet 会切断生命对灵魂的束缚,并站在一旁守护,引导躯体进入来世。

赫克特的崇拜在早期王朝时期非常活跃,第二王朝的王子尼苏-赫克特将她的名字作为自己的名字。
